Service was great, but the sushi was underwhelming. A lot of the rolls featured cream cheese, which was also a bummer. The menu has a wide selection, but the city has better sushi than this.

Nusushi is by far the best sushi in the world as fellow reviewer Justin stated. I travel frequently and eat sushi alot and Nusushi tops them all! I have been a frequent customer for more years than I even remember. The wait staff, Cindy and Joy are amazing and on top of things knowing exactly what I want from the second I arrive -drinks, to soup to rolls! They are brilliant how they can remember their customers and what they like to eat! The sushi is ALWAYS FRESH and superb! I crave it multiple times a week and I will admit I would rather have the mouth-watering sushi then to go buy a new pair of shoes ( ps I Love Shoes)!!!!! So you can imagine how excellent this place is! I feel like a part of the Nusushi family and I thank them for their excellent service and outstanding food for the more than 10 years I have been eating there!

Simply the best sushi in town. Huge variety and range of options ranging from traditional sushi/sashimi combos to seasonal offerings not on the menu. Every time my wife and I go we ask for 'chef's recommendation' and they'll give us something different usually based on what's in season at the moment. I like being challenged by a meal every now and then, and chef manages to do just that. 5 stars all the way!

Average sushi. This is a nice place but there isnt much special about it. The restaurant is a small place in a strip mall with simple clean ambiance. White walls and a bit of asian decor but relatively simple. We were greated in a reasonable amount of time and sat at a table after it was cleaned. Then it seemed like we were forgotten for a good 10 minutes. We caught the eye of an employee who sat 4 people next to us and she took our drink and appetizer order. We ordered miso soup and tempura appetizer. The miso soup was pretty much emblematic of everything, it lacked much flavor and was just ok. The tempura appetizer came next and was pretty decent with a couple shrimps and four vegetable pieces. We had four sushi rolls and while all were ok, none of them were standouts. Tuna, JB, Rainbow, and Mexican. We asked for extra wasabi and got a nice big lump but even after adding and adding more to our soy sauce, it just didnt have any oomph. I even tried a straight taste of wasabi and no zip. They definitely need to change their wasabi recipe to give it more punch. There seemed to be basically one waitress handling ten tables. They definitely could have used another wait person on Saturday night. Nice friendly staff though and the sushi chefs whipped out the food relatively fast after being ordered. Prices were lower than we expected but probably in line for the overall quality.

Best sushi ever! My boyfriend and I dine here once a week. I'm totally addicted to this food! We don't order the normal rolls that are on the menu, we seat by the bar and Yuji the owner/ chef makes us specialty sushi. If you appreciate a great authentic sushi experience this is the place to go!

Best sushi on Coral Springs. Actually, best sushi I've had in South Florida in terms of quality, quantity, and price. Never had a roll I haven't liked. Conch and scallop are two amazing rolls. Service is great too!!

Absolutely excellent! I've been to just about every Sushi house in Coral Springs (including some well known in Parkland). "N U Sushi", (on the west side of University, just north of Atlantic) by far, hands down is the best Sushi in this entire town & then some! Nothing compares; the freshness of their food definitely exceeded my expectation, considering the tiny little plaza it sits in & the somewhat blasé décor. For starters we had the Mixed Tempura appetizer. Perfect for just 2 & cooked to perfection. I had the #3A (can't remember the name), it was a combo of Shrimp Tempura, Crab, cucumber, Dynamite (inside), topped with Avocado & my daughter had the Mixed Dynamite Roll (neither is listed on their website, but it's on their Sushi menu inside.) The food was as fresh as it gets. The prices were very reasonable & fair. The only thing I would change is to hire some help. The cooks, Sushi Chef, who I presume is also the owner, was our waiter as well. A very pleasant, courteous man, very attentive & cordial. We were the first to arrive & it had people trickling in rather quickly. The ambiance is "so-so", but compared to the quality of food, it was barely noticeable. We only had to wait a bit for our check but that was it. Service was great, the food was superb, & an absolute must do for all Sushi connoisseurs! Highly recommended (& I do not speak these words lightly)! Bon Appetit!

I've been there twice in less than a month because the food is really good. I was not a big fan of sushi and I asked my husband to take me to a nice authentic Japanese sushi restaurant, and he found this place, it's not a big place but I guarantee the food is good. I had salmon teriyaki and combination of sushi, sashimi and tempura, I will love going back there again and it's not overpriced either.

If You want a special treat of authentic Japanese cuisine nu sushi is one of the only places in south Florida to get it. You can gorge yourself on a buffet but to have an real Japanese experience go see Yujisan. For something special try the monk fish liver. They have it only occasionally but it is worth it. Over time you might even get on the monk fish liver call list for when it comes in. Nu Sushi is a true south Florida japanese delicacy.

This place sucks! Never again had the lunch chicken teriyaki that comes with 4 pieces of sushi and a spring roll they didn't include any sauces the chicken was gross the teriyaki sauce was watery and so was the salad dressing! I'm not Japanese but I've eaten good Japanese food and this place doesn't have it.

Loved it! Tasty, fresh and very reasonably priced. The chefs were older men who clearly knew their way around the menu because they were cranking out plates faster then we could eat them! I started out with Uni (quail egg on top of course thanks Dan), tried a roscoe roll (thanks Joan), had a few other things in between then finished up with a rainbow roll. All great choices! The menu seemed to go on forever! If you don't have an idea of what you want when you walk in, you'll probably spend at least 10 minutes just looking at the menu. For those of you who like sake, the people next to me ordered a large one and thoroughly enjoyed every drop. I'd like to recommend sitting at the sushi bar to see the masters in action but beware of the Airline seating at the sushi bar. If you're larger than a size 0, you're going to be cramped and there's no leg room; my ostrich legs were not happy with that. Girls: don't even think about trying to seat your tall husband, boyfriend or date at the sushi bar. Unless you plan on laying him down and eating the sushi off of his body, sit at a table in the back. Thankfully, though the restaurant is small, the tables aren't cramped at all. Try it, you'll like it! Tell them the ostrich sent you!

Excellent food but when you order food to go they charge $1 each sauce like spicy mayo or eel sauce. Expensive sauces!!! I don't mind paying additional but $1 is a little excessive

When I am in Coral Springs for business and I have time to sit down for lunch I try to go to this "hole in the wall" sushi joint. The decor might look a little old and outdated but the sushi is extremely fresh, the rolls are creative, and the prices are very good. I usually eat the lunch special for $7.95-$10.95 which consisits of a small noodle appetizer and a bento box with salad, 1/2 california roll, either gzoya, chicken wing, or spring roll, & then some type of entree (rolls, sashimi, sushi, katsus, teriyakis, negimakis. tuna ttataki, cooked scallops or shrim\p, yakitori). It is a great deal but we know deals do not matter if the food is not delicious. This food delivers on all levels! I really try not to eat the spring roll but it comes out so hot, crispy, tasty, & deicious. I usually get the roll special and all of the fish is fresh. I have gotten the following rolls: tuna, salmon, hamachi, spicy tuna, and roscoe. Roscoe is a guilty treat as I also try to stay away from tempura rolls (and ones with cream cheese). However, the hot flaky tempura with the soft cream cheese and cold fish is hard to resist. The only roll that I was not thrilled with was the spicy tuna. There was nothing bad about it....just more the type of spicy tuna roll that is tuna in the roll with some hot sauce in it (instead of chopped spicy tuna) Service is always fast. Would love to try more items at this place for dinner one night!

So happy to have found well-prepared Japanese cuisine at great prices! High-quality ingredients and a super friendly staff make this a great lunch or dinner spot. Just be sure to check their hours- they are closed Mondays and are open for lunch Tuesday-Friday only.

Horrible customer service! We came in with a baby and asked for a high chair twice. After 15 minutes we finally received a high chair. We put in a drink order and asked about the saki cocktail on the menu and was informed "It will take her 15 minutes to make it she's too busy". We put in a regular saki order which was brought out. 30 minutes later the waitress still had not come to take our dinner order. I tried to get the waitress's attention several times and the response was "I can't take orders only she can". After waiting some more, we finally asked to pay for our drink and decided to leave. There was no apology for the wait or horrible customer service. She just handed us the check and said "we don't take credit cards unless you spend more than $10". We paid cash and just walked out. This place should be called F U Sushi because that's how they feel about their customers.

My boyfriend and I have been trying to find the best sushi place in town, and so far, NU Sushi is it. We ordered 4 rolls for takeout last night..2 of which were delicious! The other 2 were okay...but I wouldnt recommend anything tempura as they were over cooked. Nothing a little wasabi and whatever their spicy (mayo?) sauce couldn't fix. Pricing is great! We got 4 rolls for $33, which I'm used to paying for 3. The location, just a few blocks from our place is an added bonus too! We will definitely order sushi again from here...looking forward to trying something new!

The atmosphere is not very appealing. The service was okay. The salad was pretty good. The spring rolls were pretty bad, crispy on the outside and soggy on the inside and didn't have a good sauce on the side. The sushi was not vey good, the rice was too soft and sticky. Seaweed rolls were dry and tough on the outside and stuffed with too much rice. I truly don't understand the good reviews. Take your chances and make your own decision.....

Every time I spoke to my coworkers and friends in Coral Springs about sushi, they always mentioned Nu Sushi. We finally took the advice and tried it out, and very glad we did. My wife and I eat sushi about once a week, and have our favorite spots. Seems like every time we try a new place we are terribly disappointed. I was surprised by the quality of the rolls, sashimi and most importantly the sushi rice. We had the Alison roll, the Scott roll, but the best roll was the #11. We also had sashimi and roe trio (salmon roe, wasabi tobiko and black tobiko). All really good! I gave 4 stars because the decor is nothing to be desired, and service wasn't stellar. The service wasn't bad, the sushi chef was also the server. It added a homely feel to the experience. I will definitely be back often.

Best sushi hands down in Coral Springs. My husband and I love raw tuna, and they created a hand made sushi boat with three specialty tuna rolls that were to die for. Loved the sushi guys too, they are very likeable and fun to talk to. Overall great experience time and time again.

It is almost impossible to believe there is a sushi restaurant owned an operated by an actual Japanese family - but there is, N U Sushi! I was unimpressed when we walked in. The restaurant is very dark inside at night, so much so we had difficulty reading the menus - and neither of us have glasses or eye issues. The decor is on the shabby side, looking well used but the tables were clean. The sushi menu is extensive ranging from a simple California roll to elaborate futomaki rolls with almost every roll you can imagine in between. The fish is fresh and bright tasting. We both agreed that the variety, quality and freshness of the food really is worth the visit. Prices were reasonable. The service was a little slow but friendly. Our server was very willing to discuss items on the menu, even offering up useful and interesting suggestions. We will gladly return to check out more of their unique sushi rolls.

I have been here a few times now, and this is now my favorite sushi spot in Coral Springs! The service has been consistently perfect, the ambiance is cozy and quiet, and best of all, the sashimi is consistently absolutely delicious! The Fish tower is super-yummy, and the Uni was awesome! I tried the rolls once, and they were tasty. The rolls at Bluefin in Parkland have them beat, ever so slightly, but for me, the rolls are not the main focus. I will probably try them again at some point and update this review, but for now, I will leave it at that. If you are in Coral Springs and craving the best sushi around, N U Sushi is the place to go!

I used to eat here all the time, but after moving a bit north, I found more local sushi. I went back recently, and to my pleasant surprise... it's just as good as it always was! I love the house special salad, hamachi kama, University and # 19 rolls but the menu is huge and there are many awesome sounding specials on the board, like crispy bok choy. I look forward to coming back!

The sushi and sashimi are the best and Cindy was great! Just going on the taste of the sushi alone, it has no peers. The sushi and sashimi is so fresh and cut perfectly. The ambience is intimate, the decor is simple, not fancy, I wish it was a little uprgraded, it looks much like a take out place. It might be kept simple as not to be ostentatious and not detract attention from the food. Fron the start we were greeted by Cindy who is extremely friendly, she was our server and was great, engaging , knew the menu well and offered great input. The main star was the food, from the miso soup to the fried ice cream they do each course better than any other sushi place I can remember going to. The miso soup was so savory. It had a hint of smoke and the tofu was smooth in texture. The sashimi was out of this world and we had one of their signature fills the number one I believe. It had a tempura flakes sprinkled above and the rice on the sushi was delicious normally thats what I dislike. Then to top it off the fried ice cream and fries cheesecake were great topped with whipped cream and and chocolate syrup. I had a great time and would recommend it to anyone, especially sushi lovers that want real sushi.

Went here a couple of days ago with my son and the only thing I can say is that this place is still the best in Northwest Broward. I always enjoy chatting with Yugi San. He and Shin take alot of pride in the art of sushi which is gets lost in a land of all you can eat sushi buffets. Nothing against Tee-Jays or Sakura (which are awesome) but there is something about eating sushi here. Maybe because it's owned by someone from Japan or that I have a friend Steve who is true sushi expert who eats here every Friday afternoon and swears that Nu Sushi is the most authentic you can get in the states. Never been to Japan. but I believe Steve and I trust what I see and taste. That $hit don't lie. Remember to tell Yugu San that it's time for a Vegas trip and that Dan sent you, Stay Hungry!

My first impression of the eatery as i walked in was unentused. The moment i walked in there i said - '3', without even tasting the food, which ended uThe atmosphere in this restraunt is underwhelming. It looks old and not updated, and there were few people in there. Then the food started coming out, my opinions started to change. The food was great, and made up for the bad ombiounce in the room. Although, the "spicy tuna roll" was not what it was cracked up to be. The "spicy tuna" was litteraly a piece of tuna with scallion, and marinated in very, very spicy spices, and also had what appeared to be and tasted like a habeñero pepper. I do not recommend the "spicy tuna" roll. The rest of the food was great, and the sushi/sashimi boat was amazing. The food made up for the terrible atmosphere, so I recommend take out.

I have been going to NU Sushi for YEARSSSSS!!! Absolutely the best sushi in the area. If you go order the Bento Box. Multiple different choices and a TON of food included for a super reasonable price. I honestly cant remember a time where I went to NU sushi and didnt have fresh fish, it is ALWAYS FRESH and tasty! Make sure you get the chicken wing as the side item too, I have ordered these alone as an entree because they are so good. Service is always acceptable and the atomosphere is typical sushi restaurant style. This is a great date restaurant!

I don't know how this place rates so high. The rolls were tiny with very little fish and the prices were higher then other places. Also the staff could have been much friendlier and for a Saturday night at the hight of dinner hour the place was dead. I guess I can now understand why.

I can't believe nobody has rated this place yet! I dont even know where to begin, other than to say that this is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world, and I currently live in Chicago, and frequently visit Atlanta and NYC, three of the most amazing food cities in the US. If you dont get the "Early Bird" special bento box for $9.95, you will be very sorry. You get 2 full sushi rolls, soup, salad, appetizer, and 1/2 california roll ALL FOR UNDER 10 BUCKS .. how can you beat that?? And make sure to try the Rosco Roll as one of your full rolls, its like an orgy in your mouth, but BETTER. And even if you go after 7pm, its just $2 more! If the food wasnt good enough, the service is always top notch, and the waitresses could not be any nicer. Even if the entire restaurant is completely full, you will get the same fast, personal service as usual. BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT IN CORAL SPRINGS. BEST IN FLORIDA. BEST IN THE USA. I LOVE YOU NU SUSHI!!

It a smaller place and there are always customers there, but its never crowded. The sushi is fantastic, very nice quality and tastes fresh. Menu has a nice variety. Comes with choice of salad or soup, I always choose the salad because of the dressing it comes with. The waitresses are extremely polite, and always ready to help recommend to those who are new to sushi. I usually spend $9-14 for a meal. The only con is that the fried ice cream is not as good as other sushi places that I've been to, but that's a minor con compared to everything else about this place.

Disappointing. I didn't review the menu online carefully enough. Nearly every sushi roll has some form of tempura. I want "real" (Americanized) sushi, with raw fish! Very few had real raw fish. They had way too much tempura and "krab". The ones I chose were okay, but poorly made, they fell apart making it difficult to eat with chop sticks. My dinner companions are not sushi eaters so they had chicken and shrimp tempura. You would expect that a restaurant that had tempura in nearly every dish would be really good at tempura, right? Wrong! The tempura was nearly tasteless and way too much tempura batter making the food mostly fried dough. The reviews are off base, in my opinion. Be sure to check the menu before coming. The special rolls are about 80% tempura.

Yum! Came here last night and ordered sushi a la carte, rolls and some hand rolls. Wow! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much but inside is nice and relaxing. The sushi is fresh, authentic and melts in your mouth. Not to mention the prices are very good. I just found my new favorite sushi place!
